This project called for the design for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the historic Hudson’s Bay building in beautiful downtown Victoria. The Townline Group purchased the 89 year old building in 2006 with the vision of turning the abandoned structure into modern, sustainable living areas while preserving its historic elements and beauty. The AME Group worked with Terasen Gas to devise a financing strategy that enabled the installation of the energy efficient geoexchange system. Terasen installed the systems and will provide operation and maintenance and lease back the cost to owners at the Hudson. AME designed and implemented numerous technologically advanced mechanical design systems with sustainability, occupant comfort and energy conservation as the key focus.
