The AME Group provided indicative design services for this PPP project and is acting as part of the Owner’s Representative team. This project is for the construction of a high security, state-of-the-art 180 cell expansion to the existing Surrey Pre-trial Services Centre, together with the associated renovations to the existing facility. This project is part of an overall $185 million capital plan that represents the largest single investment in corrections facilities by the Province of BC in more than half a century. The Surrey Pre-trial Centre will more closely resemble an office building, similar to those in the area, than what is traditionally considered as a correctional facility. As with all new provincially owned or leased facilities, it will be built, at minimum to a LEED Gold or equivalent standard. This will ensure the building will be among the most efficient and sustainable in the world.
